Dubai CommerCity, the first and leading free zone dedicated to digital commerce in the MENA region and operating under the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ), has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Commerce Foundation.
The Global Commerce Foundation is an independent international organization focused on advancing global digital commerce by strengthening cooperation among markets, businesses, entrepreneurs, experts, and academic institutions, promoting the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and supporting innovation and collaboration across international markets. The MoU aims to promote innovation in digital commerce and explore applications of autonomous artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) in the sector.
Establishes a Framework for Collaboration in Digital Commerce, Cross-Border Commerce, and Emerging Technologies
The MoU was signed at Dubai CommerCity's headquarters during Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026, reflecting the event's importance as a platform that brings together AI and technology leaders, investors, and innovators while showcasing the latest practical applications of advanced technologies.
The collaboration establishes a framework for joint work in digital commerce, cross-border commerce, unified commerce, collaborative commerce, and emerging technologies. It also aims to enhance companies' efficiency, capacity to access new markets, and ability to expand internationally by exploring autonomous artificial intelligence solutions capable of automating and executing various business tasks and processes with greater autonomy.
“The Partnership Aligns with Dubai's Vision to Strengthen Its Position as a Global Hub for Trade and the Digital Economy”
Amna Lootah, Director General of Dubai CommerCity, said: “Autonomous artificial intelligence (Agentic AI) represents a fundamental transformation in the future of digital commerce as we move from using AI as a supporting tool to deploying it to perform tasks and processes with greater autonomy. Through our collaboration with the Global Commerce Foundation, we aim to translate these technological capabilities into practical applications that support businesses and strengthen their ability to innovate, grow, and access new markets.”
Lootah continued: “This partnership aligns with Dubai's vision to strengthen its position as a global hub for trade and the digital economy. It also supports the emirate's efforts to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies and enable the private sector to use these technologies to increase productivity and build more competitive business models.”
“Will Provide a Tangible Opportunity to Strengthen Connections Between Latin America, the Caribbean, Dubai, and the Global Digital Commerce Ecosystem”
Marcos Pueyrredon, President of the Global Commerce Foundation, said: “Businesses across different markets face numerous challenges as they adopt new technologies and pursue their international growth objectives. This creates significant opportunities for cross-market learning and collaboration. Our collaboration with Dubai CommerCity provides a platform to explore models that bring together research, capacity building, and the practical testing of solutions within an active business environment.
At the same time, it enables the identification of successful approaches and the sharing of insights gained through our international networks, such as the eCommerce Institute in Latin America and the Caribbean and EICOM (European Institute for Commerce Management) in Europe. Building on more than 20 years of experience and relationships, this collaboration will connect these ecosystems with Dubai, strengthening the city's role as a strategic hub for global opportunities, knowledge exchange, and growth.
Global Finale of the Tetrix Agentic World League to Be Held in Collaboration with Dubai CommerCity
As one of the key milestones of our first year of partnership, the Global Finale of the Tetrix Agentic World League will be held in Dubai in 2027 in collaboration with Dubai CommerCity during Dubai AI Week. This event will provide a tangible opportunity to bring together talent, companies, institutions, and innovative solutions from different markets, promote knowledge exchange, and strengthen connections between Latin America, the Caribbean, Dubai, and the global digital commerce ecosystem.”
The partnership also covers applied research, proof-of-concept (PoC) projects, technology demonstrations, market research, the exchange of best practices, and the development of business cases and knowledge content. Other areas of collaboration include executive education, professional training, mentorship, and talent development activities, as well as innovation competitions, incubation programs, and business accelerators.
The collaboration also aims to establish connections among businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, talent, and academic institutions and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and expertise across different markets, including opportunities to support companies' access to markets in Dubai, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The partnership aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to strengthen Dubai's position as a global hub for trade, the digital economy, and innovation, expand foreign trade, and leverage advanced technologies to create new economic opportunities. It also supports the UAE's efforts to accelerate AI adoption and strengthen its position as a global center for innovation in this field.
This partnership reflects both organizations' commitment to empowering businesses and talent, developing innovative digital commerce solutions, and strengthening international cooperation to support the next generation of commerce powered by technology and artificial intelligence. The Global Commerce Foundation's initiatives span various markets across Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, including the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Spain, Türkiye, China, and Mexico.
